Emergency Contact Information for Your Driver License
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has added a new service for their customers. This service allows you to attach emergency contact information to your Florida driver license or identification card. This information would be available to law enforcement if needed in an emergency situation. The information is kept on a secure intranet site AVAILABLE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY. This feature allows you to add two emergency contacts with up to three phone numbers per contact.
Effective immediately, customers can go to the DHSMV website (www.hsmv.state.fl.us) and enter their information. Beginning January 1, 2007, the Emergency Contact Information may also be entered through any local driver license office.
