The Ocean Avenue bridge has closed for construction starting March 18, 2012 and re-opening Thanksgiving, 2013. The new bridge will be 11 feet higher and is expected to reduce bridge openings by 40%. Traffic will cross to the mainland from either East Ocean Avenue to the south or Lake Avenue to the north. The Town of Lantana voted 4-0 to allow construction to continue until 11:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday until May 31, to allow for a quicker opening.
