Chief Jeff Rasor began his law enforcement career with the City of Miami Police Department before transitioning to the Delray Beach Police Department, where he built an impressive 23-year legacy of service and leadership. Rising through the ranks to Assistant Chief, Chief Rasor held pivotal roles, overseeing community patrol, traffic, special events, and investigations, among many others. Chief Rasor is not only a seasoned law enforcement professional but also an innovator and educator. He created the Criminal Justice Academies at Atlantic Community High School and Carver Middle School, fostering future generations of law enforcement leaders. His educational background is equally remarkable. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. He has also completed advanced leadership training through programs like PERF’s Senior Management Institute for Police and the FBI-LEEDA Executive Development course. Chief Rasor’s community-oriented approach and extensive experience make him an invaluable asset to the Town. We are confident his leadership will strengthen our Police Department and enhance public safety for all our residents.

Vacation House Checks: This service allows a resident to notify the Police Department when you will be away from your property for a length of time. The police will “keep an extra eye” on your property. At various times of the day and night, officers will physically walk around your property and check for anything that may be suspicious or may need attention. By submitting the proper form to us, we will know who, if anyone, has permission to be on your property. The request forms can be obtained by calling 561-585-4030.
Construction Site Checks: To better serve the construction community, Manalapan Police Department officers will conduct proactive construction site checks during non-business hours. Construction sites found disturbed will be searched for security purposes and an emergency contact will be notified. In the event the police department is unable to make contact with an emergency contact, the site will be secured to the best ability of the police officers on scene.
Fail-Safe™ Lock Boxes: During times of emergency, you may not be able to open a door for police officers, firefighters, or paramedics. A lock box is a device which stores your keys and allows emergency workers access to your property if necessary. Contact Police Chief Rasor at 561-383-2550 for more information.
Extra Duty Detail: There are times when residents and/or businesses have requested to hire an off-duty officer for a specific event. This is to provide police duties beyond the coverage provided for the general public. These officers may be hired to provide extra security, crowd and/or traffic control. Additional information and an application request are provided.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has added a new service for their customers. This service allows you to attach emergency contact information to your Florida driver license or identification card. This information would be available to law enforcement if needed in an emergency situation. The information is kept on a secure intranet site AVAILABLE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY. This feature allows you to add two emergency contacts with up to three phone numbers per contact.
Effective immediately, customers can go to the DHSMV website and enter their information. Beginning January 1, 2007, the Emergency Contact Information may also be entered through any local driver license office. This is a great tool assist you or someone you care about in an emergency. Please pass this on to your family, friends, and co-workers.
